Costa Rica: Rainbow over Monteverde valley A preview of things to come...
The Costa Rican Adventure
Yoga for Youth Summer 2001
Age 15 - 20 +
This summer Costa Rica is our exotic destination. Get ready for an exciting adventure! Amongst all tropical countries Costa Rica stands out as one of the most beautiful. Rainforests, active volcanoes, windswept mountain tops, beautiful beaches along with an incredible variety of wildlife (monkeys, sloth's, caimans, sea turtles and exotic birds) create a truly organic experience of the tropics. In addition to this natural beauty the country's historic, social and political profile, build its own unique character. The goal of our tour is to capture the richness & diversity that Costa Rica offers while we explore the perspective of Ananda Marga on our relationship with nature. Our spiritual practices will be an integral part of our daily routine, so we can focus on deepening our understanding and enlivening our inspiration. Our day will start just after sunrise with collective yoga and meditation. After breakfast we will have an hour long group discussions or games followed by outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, sports or various physical exercises. At sunset we will come together to renew our energy with another session of collective meditation. After dinner we share and socialize, maybe even try to pull together a cultural performance of some kind. We shouldn't fail to mention the exquisite tropical treats our vegetarian cuisine will let you experience throughout the trip. All the participants will work together doing, cooking, clean up etc. Itinerary 29 July - 10 August 29th Arrival, San Jose, Costa Rica 30th Sightseeing in the city: There are several small museums, parks and markets that we will visit. 31th Travel to the Pacific Coast Playa la Hermosa: We will spend four days here with accommodations a few feet away from the beach.
