Another sports Mega-program in Anse Rouge area... We thought, let's try to do a little race in Sources Chaudes or Sous Chod..."Kous la Sous"...It became yet another big program with dancers, singers, music and over 100 kids having fun. The first batch came from Zoranger and Mont-Antoine, some of whom had to walk over 5 kilometers to get to the pick-up point. Thanks to organisers Francky and Mikerlange as well as Rama for the dancers, it became a full success. The first race was 100m from goal to goal in a stadium. At some point they were so close that the crowd was fighting about who was the winner. All was still under control up to the 500m race, but for the 1000m, as many kids were running with the selection and fighting if the last shortcut was legal... a big pele mele errupted, but finally all accepted the judges verdict. The marathon at the end was an awesome display of strength, since the heat was pounding on this friday the 13th... Nearly every t-shirt, sportsman or not was drenched with sweat. The dance choreography gave the final soft touch and a big smile of an overall champion for the marathon was all that was needed to make this a worthwhile experience. Everybody was asking when the next event would take place. All we could do is to distribute one quality football to all the schools, so that they would train during the vacation for the new school year.
