Top S.S.A.C. trainer still runs marathon at advanced age... German Ex-footbal player in the second national league up until1980, still runs marathon at age 50. Juergen Z., born in a small town of Ulm - south Germany - became Acharya Gunaragananda Avadhuta, a yoga monk of Ananda Marga. He left his career of a professional footbal player back then. Some of his contemporaries were icons like Beckenbauer, Sepp Maier and many others who shaped German footbal in the late seventies and eighties. Dada Gunaragananda as he prefers to be called, is one of the few professional trainers with the S.S.A.C. worldwide network. People confuse him with Reinhold Messner, the austrian born climber of Mt. Everest who was the first to do it without oxygen. Runners in Berlin. More on the run... On September 26th, about 50.000 runners from over 100 countries came together to run a marathon through the city of Berlin. Three worldrecords were made on a hot sunday afternoon with 24 C. The blind-persons record was done by Regina V. and Mizuki Noguchi beat the world-record over 25 km and 30 km. The over-all winners were 3 Kenyan born athletes. The first among them Philip Manyim with a time of 2hs. and 7 minutes.
